Public Relations Campaign for the Wildwoods, NJ

Suasion Communications Group and the Greater Wildwoods Tourism
Improvement & Development Authority win an Adrian Award for

2009-2011 ‘Value and Family-Friendly’ PR Campaign

Egg Harbor Township, NJ, November 23, 2011 – Suasion Communications Group’s 2009-2011 public relations campaign for the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement & Development Authority (GWTIDA) publicizing the Wildwoods, NJ as a value-filled, affordable, family-friendly vacation destination has earned a HSMAI Silver Adrian Award in the annual marketing competition’s Consumer Marketing Public Relations category.

Suasion Communications Group of Egg Harbor Township, NJ serves as GWTIDA’s public relations agency of record. The firm created and executed the award-winning public relations campaign effort, which was selected for the award from a field of more than 1,000 international entries judged by senior industry and media experts.

The Adrian Awards are presented annually by the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) to honor outstanding achievements in advertising, public relations and website marketing in the travel industry. Founded in 1957, the Adrian Awards embrace all segments of the hospitality industry, including hotels, airlines, cruise lines, car rental companies, destinations and more.

Suasion’s 2009-2011 public relations campaign for the Wildwoods, NJ, along with the Wildwoods’ advertising and marketing campaign to date, has resulted in over 1,400 national and regional broadcast, print and web story placements, in addition to contributing to the over 95 awards & accolades, 100,000 requests for vacation information packets from prospective vacationers, and over 4.5 million unique website visitors to the Wildwoods website, received by the five-mile island throughout the life of the campaign.

The PR campaign promoted the Wildwoods as a one-of-a-kind family vacation destination, providing great value in a tough economic climate and highlighted all of the free things to see and do in the Wildwoods – including the island’s beaches, boardwalk and over 180 events held throughout the year.

“The Wildwoods brand continues to grow and remain top-of-mind for vacationers through our highly successful public relations and marketing campaigns,” said John Siciliano, GWTIDA executive director.

This is one of many awards that the Suasion Communications/GWTIDA partnership has garnered for its public relations efforts. The Wildwoods’ 2008 public relations campaign and 2010 public relations campaign for the Wildwoods’ Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall earned 2009 & 2011 New Jersey Governor’s Awards for Tourism Excellence from the New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism, in addition to the partnership earning a Bronze Adrian Award for its 2009 public relations campaign promoting the Wildwoods’ marketing campaign.

“Being selected from over 1,000 national and international entries for this year’s Adrian Awards is a major accomplishment for Suasion, and we plan on continuing our award-winning work throughout 2012,” said Susan Adelizzi-Schmidt, President of Suasion Communications Group in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
